Odunlade Adekola (born December 31, 1976) is another versatile multifaceted Nigerian actor, singer, filmmaker, businessman, producer, and director.

He earned vogue and was widely known for his principal role in Ishola Durojaye‘s 2003 movie, Asiri Gomina Wa, and has acted in multiple Nollywood films since then.

He is the founder and CEO of the Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP). He is married to Ruth Adekola and blessed with 4 (four) children.

Early Life & Education

He is a native of Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State. Odunlade Adekola was born on the 31st of December, 1976. He was born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, but from Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State. His father is B.A Adekola. He also has sister named Jethro Oyekanmi Adekola.

Odunlade Adekola attended St. John’s Primary School and St. Peter’s College in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and then obtained the West African School Certificate Examination.

He proceeded to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), receiving a diploma certificate.

Odunlade Adekola proceeded to further his education, and in May 2018, he received a degree in Bachelors of Business Administration at the University of Lagos.

Career

Odunlade Adekola began his acting career in 1996, the same year he joined the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts practitioners. He has starred in scripted, produced, and directed several Nigerian films.

In April 2014, Odunlade Adekola won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the year’s best actor.

In December 2015, he marked his entrance into the Nigerian music industry. Photographs of Odunlade Adekola during filming are widely used as internet memes across the Nigerian webspace.

Odunlade Adekola, who was dubbed the aliases – Alani PamolekunSunday DagboruMufu Oloosha OkoAdebayo Aremu Abere – for his numerous humorous roles in the movie industry, is married to Ruth Adekola.

The couple reportedly met in 1995 in Abeokuta at a vigil organized by Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C). The actor later proposed to her after a few months of their meeting.

The two finally sealed their love in the presence of their family members and friends in the same year by exchanging marital vows.

Ruth Adekola, as gathered, was born on November 2. She hails from Ekiti State and is said to have attended the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, where her husband graduated.

The lovely couple’s marital relationship has produced four gorgeous boys. Odunlade Adekola welcomed his fourth child with his wife in November 2015 in Abeokuta, while their third child was born in 2013.
