Reno Omokri tackles American rapper 50 Cent over the planned movie on Hushpuppi

Some hours ago, 50 cent via his official Instagram page had announced plans to release a movie series based on notorious Nigerian internet fraudster, Ramon Abass better known as Hushpuppi.

Recall Essenceloaded reported that Hushpuppi has been sentenced to 11 years in jail by the United States Central District Court in California after he was found guilty of laundering proceeds of a school financing scam, business email compromise and other fraudulent cyber schemes.

Note that Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in June 2020, for defrauding over 1.9 million people, majority of whom were Americans.

He was afterwards extradited to the United States for trial on July 3, the same year.

He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in money laundering with multiple people within and outside the US to ladder the proceedings.

Sharing pictures of the convict, 50 Cent made it known via his IG page account that he was working on a movie project based on Hushpuppi’s story.

He wrote; “For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppy series coming soon ! GLGGreenLightGang i don’t miss .”

Reacting to this, Reno Omokri via his official Facebook page chides rapper 50 cent over the planned movie on Hushpuppi as he noted that he is not impressed with his decision as it’s not a good one for the image of Nigeria as a country.

He wrote; “Not impressed by 50 Cents planned movie on Hushpuppi. It will further tank Nigeria’s already battered image.

Many positive things come out of Nigeria, like Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye, the first man to successfully perform surgery on an unborn baby outside its mother’s womb, and restore it back in its mum’s womb after the procedure.

Do a movie about those! If 50 Cent really wants to do a movie about fraud, then he should consider doing one on Bernie Madoff, an American who stole $50 billion, thereby pulling off the biggest heist ever on Earth. #TableShaker.”
