Tuk-Ham Festival Returns After 6 Years Of Stoppage In Kaduna
The Tuk-Ham Festival 2024 marked a triumphant return after a six-year hiatus, culminating in a spectacular grand finale in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The revitalized Ham cultural event brought together Ham communities in Jaba, Kachia, Kagarko, Jema’a, Zango-Kataf Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, as well as sections of Karu and Kokona Local Government Areas of Nassarawa State to showcase the vibrant heritage and unity of the Ham people.
The Tuk-Ham people appreciated the Nigerian Breweries, Seven-Up bottling company and Grand Oak for their support and contribution to the festival’s vibrancy at the vendor village during the event.
The Head of Media, Tuk Ham Festival 2024, Bello Bissalla in a statement released to newsmen in Kaduna disclosed that the event which held at the Vendor’s Village had corporate partners using the opportunity to engage with the diverse audience to promote their brands and enhance market penetration.
Bissalla explained that the week long festivity commenced with a thrilling 16 community football tournament, featuring young footballers displaying their skills and talents. Notable figures such as former Super Eagles players Emmanuel Babayaro and Tijjani Babangida graced the event, adding to the excitement.
“Additionally, medical outreach was provided and essential healthcare services including surgeries were performed on hundreds of underprivileged Ham sons and daughters, reflecting the festival’s commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.”
“A talent hunt and musical concert provided platforms for Ham musicians to showcase their talents, enriching the cultural experience for all attendees.”
At the grand finale of Tuk-Ham Festival His Majesty, the 9th Kpop Ham, Dr. Danladi Gyet Maude OON, the paramount ruler of Ham land expressed immense satisfaction at the festival’s return.
Also speaking at the finale, the Chairman of the Tuk Ham 2024 Festival Organizing Communitee, Ambassador Bulus Lolo expressed satisfaction at the work and planning that led to the successful return of the festival after six years of absence.
In his welcome address, Rev Jerry Andrew, HAMCDA National President, highlighted key appeals and initiatives for the advancement of the Ham community, including upgrading the Nok National Museum,
It was gathered that the festival also served as a platform for the recognition of individuals who made meaningful contributions to the development of Ham land, fostering a sense of community and appreciation.
